Most homeowners don't think about their water main until something goes wrong. Low pressure, soggy spots in the yard, a spike in the water bill - that's usually when people start paying attention. By then, the old line has already been causing problems for a while.

On this job, we replaced the entire water main from the meter connection all the way to the house. That meant careful digging from the street to the foundation - a clean, controlled trench to protect the yard and surrounding landscaping as much as possible. We set new meter connections and installed a copper stub for the city side, which is the standard required by most municipalities in the Salt Lake City area.

The new line we ran is high-quality material built to last. No patchwork, no half measures. When you're dealing with the main water supply to a house, it either gets done right or it creates more problems down the road. We don't cut corners on this kind of work.

Getting the city connection right matters too. The copper stub we installed meets the requirements for proper handoff to the city's infrastructure. That detail alone can save a homeowner from headaches during any future inspections or utility work.

A water main replacement is one of those jobs that's completely invisible once it's done - which is exactly the point. The ground gets backfilled, the grass grows back, and you just have reliable water service without worrying about what's running under your yard.
